We recently had a new door installed on the outside of our book drop and a new chute for the books to slide down. All parts are made of steel.
The original book drop was installed in 1982. All of the pieces were made from wood – the door, the chute, and the box that the books dropped into.
The color photo shows George 42 years later putting a book into the new book drop door. The original box that the books went into has been replaced by a new one.
